Frank Sinatra met and fell in love with Mia Farrow not long after her highly publicized legal battle with her ex-husband, Woody Allen. The Annie Hall director was embroiled in a scandal involving alleged inappropriate behavior with their daughter, Dylan Farrow. This controversial case became a major topic of discussion in Tinseltown, and the revelations surrounding it only added fuel to the fire.
Woody Allen believed that Farrow was manipulating their daughter to make false accusations against him, partly because Allen had started a relationship with their adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn.

Frank Sinatra Attempted To Involve The Mafia
During this time, Mia Farrow tied the knot with the popular singer, Frank Sinatra, while Allen was living with Soon-Yi Previn. The battle for the custody of their three children intensified, causing considerable strain on both Allen and Farrow. Angered by this, Sinatra allegedly tried to enlist the mafia’s help to break the director’s legs.
David Evanier, the author of the biography Woody, stumbled upon a source claiming that Farrow had accidentally revealed Sinatra’s desire to harm the director to her therapist, although she later referred to it as a joke. However, the Fly Me To The Moon singer’s close friend Frankie Randall confirmed the news and said Sinatra indeed attempted to use his connections in the Mafia:
“Frank wanted him f**king clipped. Taken out. That’s what he wanted. Frank loved Mia”.
Sinatra was ready to take the risk, however, the mob refused to take up the gig citing the operation was too risky.

Frank Sinatra Lacked the Power To Sanction The Act
Despite Frank Sinatra’s earnest efforts to enlist the mob’s help in dealing with the Scoop director, he lacked the necessary influence to execute such a plan. Len Triola, a concert producer, explained:
“The guys Frank dealt with, the old-timers, reputable people who aren’t with us anymore or [are] in jail, wouldn’t sanction that. It would set a bad precedent”.
Woody Allen was unharmed, and he continued with his movie career well into the 21st century. Nevertheless, the scandal continued to haunt him for years. Recently, the entire controversy was documented in the HBO series, Allen v. Farrow.

It should also be noted that Farrow’s marriage with Frank Sinatra was short-lived as the couple divorced in 1968, only two years after their marriage.
